Founded in 2001 by Stephen J. Carlidge, AIA, Shore Point Architecture, P.A. is a service oriented architectural design firm providing innovative and cost-effective design services across a wide range of project types. Our ever growing portfolio of work includes commercial, corporate, municipal, academic, hospitality and residential projects. Residential work ranges from single-family custom homes to multi-family structures and includes a significant commitment to affordable housing. The firm has also developed a significant expertise in preservation architecture. Our office is located in a national historic district and the firm takes great pride in restoring and reinvigorating historic structures. We see design as a highly collaborative endeavor and strive to involve the client in the design of each project. We initiate every design with an open mind and see each and every project as a unique opportunity to develop a solution that responds directly to the client's program, aspirations, budget, and schedule.


Over a career spanning 31 years, Stephen J. Carlidge, AIA has practiced Architecture with the expressed intent of providing unparalleled service and expertise to his clients. His experience includes projects of varying sizes and types. Notable projects for which he played a key role include the Martin Luther King, Jr. Federal Courthouse in Newark, NJ, the Otto York Center for Environmental Engineering at NJIT, the Liacouras Center at Temple University, and the Sun Bank Arena in Trenton.

While a Principal at Vitetta, Mr. Carlidge directed one of the nation's largest Education Design Studios. In this role, he was responsible for nearly $1 billion worth of public school design and construction across the United States. During his tenure at Vitetta, and in recognition of his expertise in school facility design, Mr. Carlidge was selected by the State of New Jersey to be their "Facilities Expert" for the Abbott v. Burke School Funding Trial.

After many years in a national firm, Mr. Carlidge founded Shore Point Architecture with the intention of becoming more directly involved in the actual design of his work. As Principal architect, he oversees all aspects of the architectural services provided to the firm's clients.
